Michel-Schlumberger Winery not only produces great wines, but offers a unique view of the winery’s history, organic farming, and winemaking practices on their daily tour at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, by appointment only. The tour includes the bee-keeping area, an explanation of the vineyards’ natural habitat, and concludes with a generous tasting. While the winery is known primarily for its red wines, I decided to purchase La Bise Pinot Blanc (available on their website to Wine Bench Members only). The estate, once former partner Jean-Jacques Michel’s private home, is very welcoming and casual. Tastings are offered both inside and in an outside courtyard.
