If asked, “What are you passionate about? What is your driving force in life?”, how would you answer? My answer to those questions is a single word: wine. Actually, any part of life that has anything to do with wine is my passion. Wine is one of those things that has the ability to capture your soul. I am not sure any of us wine fanatics can explain why, but I will give it a try.

A single glass of wine holds the uncanny ability to create lasting memories. Wine is alive and well in the hearts of those who enjoy a great glass with friends and family. Is it the delicious taste of the wine in the glass you are drinking or is your joy brought from understanding how that particular glass of wine came to be? Who knows what is more important as a particular vintage is flowing? I can tell you that conversations around wine are like no other beverage conversations. I love that there are no rules about why you like what you like or don’t like. In wine, everyone’s opinion is right and that’s one of the things that makes the living art of wine my passion.

Wine is made to be shared. My passageway into the world of wine began at a very early age with my grandfather. He loved making wine and sharing it with whoever came over for a visit. It was common practice that when you came to his home, you were welcomed at the kitchen table and there appeared before you a glass of wine and something to eat. I learned early in life that the passion of hospitality always flows when wine is being poured.

I’ve carried that same passion to this stage of my life. To create something that people enjoy and enjoy sharing, that’s what it is all about. Knowing that I have the blessing of producing from each harvest a wine that will live on in a bottle, designed to be poured out during the creation of lasting memories for those who drink it, what could be better than that?

As I have always said, “Success can be ever-changing.  It can change from day to day by following your passion and loving every minute of it. I don’t think you can measure it by the amount of money you make. I am not even sure you can measure it all. It comes from within. When you are sitting around the table with great friends, wonderful family, awesome food, and great wine, what could be better?  That’s success.”

Follow your passion – whatever it may be. Let it be something you can share with others to create a better place for everyone.
